Khöömii is an amazing style of overtone/harmonic singing where one person sings two or more distinct pitches at the same time. Khöömii originates from the central Asian plateau, particularly the Altai & Sayan mountain regions of Mongolia and Tuva. The nomads of these parts have listened to the sounds of nature and have discovered how to sing melodies that arise from the overtone or harmonic series, a universal series from which all sounds are born. Listen to your own overtones as you discover the unknown depths and heights of your own voice through the enchanting sounds of Khöömii

Learn Khöömii just like Michael was taught in Tserendavaa’s felt tent (ger) in Chandman’ sum, Mongolia.

Michael and Candida are in the unique position of being the only Europeans given the blessing to teach the basics of Khöömii by Tserendavaa, his teacher & Gereltsogt, a famous Khöömii singer from Mongolia.

“Michael has learnt well and is a fine Khöömiich”  -Tserendavaa, Michael’s teacher

“Michael has learnt the fundamentals of Khöömii”-  Sengedorj Khöömiich from Khovd Theatre

“Michael is Europe's foremost Mongolian khöömii singer” - Brian Lee, Caduceus Magazine.

Care and attention to warming up the body and voice ensure a safe passage throughout each session.

Please bring water to drink and wear loose warm clothing clothing.

The classes can be recorded for personal use only.
